Cäsar hat nach wie vor kein Mittel gefunden, das kleine gallische Dorf zu besiegen. Er führt seine Legionen daher zunächst nach Britannien. Geschickt profitiert er von dem Tick der Inselbewohner, um Punkt fünf Uhr eine Teepause abzuhalten. Die Rechnung hat Cäsar jedoch ohne Asterix und Obelix gemacht. Von ihrem Vetter Teefax alarmiert, eilen die beiden Helden ihren britischen Freunden zu Hilfe. (ORF)

Traditionelles Zeichentrickabenteuer nach dem Album "Astérix chez les Bretons" von 1966. Oder Asterix, Obelix, Idefix, Astrix und ein Fässchen Zaubertrank auf Reisen. Es ist schön, es ist gut. Die Briten können nicht kochen, die Kelten sind alle Cousins und Cousinen und damit basta :)

Ich weiß nicht, warum, aber wenn Sie mir das vor fünf Jahren gezeigt hätten, wäre ich voller Elan gewesen. Aber das hat sich im Laufe der Jahre abgenutzt. Leider sehe ich nur einen durchschnittlichen Film, der sich nicht von der Masse abhebt. Es ist ein Fest für Asterix-Fans. Für mich ist es nur ein fader Animationsfilm. Andererseits muss ich sagen, dass ich das alte London mochte (den fast hölzernen Big Ben und die Tower Bridge), und die elegante Einfügung von Tee als Nationalgetränk Englands war nicht die schlechteste Idee.

The only one of all the Asterix films that is a quality adaptation of a storybook adventure. Smart, yet understandable humour, this time spiced with a pinch of English dry humour.

Fantastic! This is exactly what true animated entertainment should look like. If the poor Gauls had any idea how the Brits can spoil even a delicious boar, they would not have gone to their aid at all. Fortunately, they didn't and I was able to witness not only a series of unforgettable catchphrases and fights, but even the toughest rugby match in history, which I will truly never forget.

Another one of my favorite Asterix films, mainly because they beautifully poke fun at the Britons throughout the whole movie. It's funny, it breaks stereotypes, and moreover, it still has a story where the Romans fit in nicely, and the whole narrative is essentially a celebration of food and drink, even if it might be a celebration in a somewhat negative sense of the word.
