Rescued by Ruby

Der Film Rescued by Ruby unterscheidet sich im Grunde genommen nicht von vielen anderen Filmen, vielleicht nur dadurch, dass er zwar eine hündische Heldin hat, aber nicht versucht, mit Gefühlen zu spielen. Inhaltlich und formal handelt es sich um einen TV-Film, den man einmal anschaut, der jedoch auf nette Art und Weise erzählt wird. Der Zuschauer verfolgt die Geschichte eines Polizisten und eines Hundes, die sich tatsächlich gegenseitig das Leben gerettet haben - ohne unnötiges Pathos seitens der Filmemacher. (15.01.2023)

Sure, it’s nothing groundbreaking — there have been plenty of stories about the K9 unit. But when done right, it’s hard to go wrong. This is a sweet family film that pleasantly surprised me with how enjoyable it was to watch. Yes, it has that Hallmark feel, but it’s an incredibly charming Hallmark feel, and if all family movies had this kind of warmth and atmosphere, I wouldn’t complain. The fourth star came from the film’s ending and the closing credits, which reveal that this story is based on real events. Plus, it’s all for a good cause. Ruby is a true hero. (04.04.2022)
