Die Autopsie (E03)

Die erste von einem sympathischen Charakter (gespielt vom charismatischen F. Murray Abraham) getragene Handlung und die erste ausgesprochen zufriedenstellende Folge, bei der es wunderbar gelungen ist, die Atmosphäre der literarischen Sci-Fi / Horror-Geschichten der 50er Jahre einzufangen. Nach The Autopsy of Jane Doe gibt es außerdem ein weiteres ausgezeichnetes prozedurales Horrorwerk aus der Umgebung eines Leichenschauhauses, und das geschieht erst in der zweiten Hälfte. The absolute king among all episodes. An episode where the atmosphere is so thick you could cut it with a knife. It's perfectly directed and brilliantly handled in terms of the script. An episode that shocks you a few times. An excellent piece that I'll definitely revisit. David Prior and David S. Goyer truly shone! Luxurious. For me, it's a 9/10. P.S. This is where Cabinet of Curiosities truly shines again. "The Autopsy" is an outstanding episode, maintaining the high quality of the previous two while offering something a bit different. The story unfolds on an autopsy table, with a doctor examining bodies from a mine explosion. The nocturnal atmosphere is so intense that you could hear a pin drop at your dinner table, even through two thick walls. F. Murray Abraham is brilliant, carrying the episode on his shoulders. The ending is quite intense, with a practical rather than shocking twist. (07.11.2022)
