Influencer

I did not see this coming! A solid thriller that flew completely under my radar, but surprisingly, I was fully engrossed from the start and the less you know the better, so I won't spoil it. A young influencer meets a strange woman while on holiday in Thailand and what appears to be a new friendship turns into a decent psycho thriller ride after a while. The film is by no means exceptional in terms of originality of idea, but I have to say that I'm pleased because this motif hasn't been worked on in such quality for quite some time. We get likable characters, quality cinematography and visuals and most importantly, there is something happening on the screen all the time and not a single minute of the film is stuck in a dead spot. The tension could be cut at certain moments, and there are also a few cool ideas and contrivances of the main "bad girl" that only add points to the full four stars. For something unknown, definitely engaging. (26.05.2023)

Be careful who you follow. A decent little inoffensive thriller that handles the premise of influencerism in an non-annoying way. The story is set in an attractive location in Thailand, where attractive influencer Madison arrives and meets a nice girl, only for the nice-looking new friendship to soon take unexpected turns. Unfortunately, there's not much to write about the film without spoilers, as the first twist comes somewhere in the first half hour, so I recommend not even watching the trailer. The film has a nice pace, it's quite suspenseful, it features some pretty ladies, it has a couple of imaginative twists, it's shot decently, and those who aren't too demanding may find it satisfying. For my taste, however, it was rather light, it could have been harsher and grittier; without proper violence it just doesn't have that much effect on me, but it’s watchable. (28.05.2023)
