Highlander III - Die Legende

Highlander III - Die Legende gehört definitiv nicht zu den schlechtesten Highlander-Filmen. Deborah Kara Unger oder Mario Van Peebles waren vielleicht nie in der Lage zu schauspielern, aber wenn man die Unausgewogenheit der gesamten Filmreihe kennt, ist das keine so schlechte Erfahrung. Klassischerweise gehören Rückblenden zu den besseren Momenten. (16.02.2009)

Ignoring the catastrophic second installment and returning to the roots, including the storyline, seems like a sensible move, but don’t expect any miracles. The short-sighted Lambert meanders through time and space, desperately missing the Queen. Once, a researcher named Unger ends up on his katana, and the omnipresent blue lightning accompanies desperate special effects ideas (the "what the fuck" scene with Kane’s running lower half reminded me of Rimmer’s holographic problems in the episode Queeg). By the way, Van Peebles’ condom-chewing sorcerer is quite weak. Clancy Brown's Kurgan would toss him off a factory roof with just a flick of his finger. (21.02.2024)

This really doesn't have anything to captivate with. It's just a retread of some of the scenes from the first film, with a story that tries to put them together in a slightly different way. The flashbacks are terrible, the effects are terrible, the acting is standard, but I wasn't really blown away by the otherwise quite nice sex scene. The villain is fine, but there's just nothing here to really justify a sequel. (07.12.2015)
