John simply looked good in his 70s. Not just in westerns, although he wasn't bad in those either, but especially in these action crime films. Almost nobody would have guessed he was 70. Moreover, the confrontation between American and English, and male and female dynamics, works quite well here, not to mention that it's also funny and the story is not at all stupid.
