Nachdem Randolph Smiley, der Star des Kinderfernsehens, vom FBI der Korruption überführt worden ist, entlässt ihn sein Sender fristlos und ersetzt ihn durch den Gutmenschen Mopes, der keiner Fliege etwas zuleide tun könnte. Danny DeVito apparently has a very strange sense of humor, and even though he cast Robin Williams and Edward Norton, he didn’t satisfy me enough in order for me to see this movie as a comedy. However, the scene where Smoochy flies in front of the Nazis was fine. It’s a pity, though, that it was filmed in a not very funny way.

This film has to basic flaws: it is about nothing and it is longer than it should be. As a result, excellent scenes are completely lost in lengthy passages when absolutely nothing happens.

It's weak. There are characters whose development is clear at first glance, there's a story that's overdone but actually doesn't say much, and ultimately, it's rather simple. This isn't something that would astound a person, and it certainly won't make them laugh much. Even the poignant moments don't work here.
