See No Evil 2

Wenn die Eins Eier hatte, bliebe die Zwei als kastrierter Schlappschwanz übrig. Das Einsetzen von zwei Schwestern in die Regiestühle, die durch den Psycho American Mary Aufmerksamkeit erregten, erwies sich als verdammt schlechte Wahl. Die Mädchen haben wahrscheinlich nach dem Lehrbuch "Wie man den Kinobesucher zu Tode langweilt" gearbeitet, denn so klischeehafte Watte habe ich im Slasher-Film schon lange nicht mehr gesehen. Jakob taucht fast schon mit schweizerischer Präzision immer dort auf, wo die Mörder bereits in den siebziger Jahren aufgetaucht sind – hinterm Rücken. Also nicht Streichhölzer anzünden, sich nicht auf der Toilette verstecken und vor allem (!) nicht ein paar Schritte zurückgehen, ohne sich umzuschauen. Was jedoch in einem modernen Massenmörder wirklich nervt, ist die völlige Absenz brutaler Morde und Titten, besonders in einer Gruppe solcher Küken. Es macht keinen Sinn, sich weiter auszubreiten, das hat einfach nicht geklappt. (10.10.2014)

"See No Evil 2" is not a slasher that fundamentally impacts the genre and brings something new. It is a horror film that plays with what it has and does not try to be anything more. It is about killing and escaping, which is presented exactly as you expect and want. As a bonus, the characters are relatively tolerable. However, I have to say that the gore did disappoint me a bit because I expected a little more from the sisters. Nevertheless, as a whole, the film did quite well and I quite enjoyed it. (28.10.2014)

I was looking forward to another slaughter with Kane and I am definitely not disappointed. The film ticks along nicely and surprisingly doesn't have too many boring passages. There are a few decent gore scenes here, but it must be said that I expected more blood, cutting, and torture from the Soska Sisters. The most entertaining for me was the overacting Katharine Isabelle, whose character was beautifully perverse and crazy, in this performance Katharine is simply irresistible. Throughout, I was more or less satisfied with what was served to me and I enjoyed it, but then came the ending, which really kicked my satisfaction in the balls. I still can't understand what the hell that was supposed to mean?! I really didn't expect such a rushed ending after a solid course, so I have to go down by one star in the rating than I originally intended. Still, I hope that Kane won't give up on it and we will at least see him break bones, break down doors, and gouge eyes out once more. (19.05.2018)
