Considering that I watched this film right after Double Indemnity, I have to say it really does come in a distant second. The actors didn't quite click with me, nor did the overall concept of the film, which seemed darker in Double Indemnity, although that darkness gradually developed. Or maybe that's why. It’s good, but there are simply better noir films.
