Paris, 1890: Dr. Georges Bonnet (Anton Diffring) betreibt eine gutgehende Privatklinik. Der Arzt sieht aus wie Mitte 30, ist aber 104 Jahre alt. The Man Who Could Cheat Death is a fairly classic film from Hammer Studios' early days, where there is an effort to scare, but at times it is still quite sterile, which is definitely a shame. However, it has its charm, and for lovers of old horror films, it is a pleasant little treat. The story can no longer surprise, as it is quite well-known today, and you quickly figure out what it's all about. That doesn't prevent the film from being at least good.
