Während eines UN-Streitkräfte-Einsatzes in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo erhält Marine-Sergeant Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins), Sohn des bekannten Scharfschützen Thomas Beckett, den Befehl, einen europäischen Farmer aus feindlichem Rebellengebiet zu befreien. Als er und seine Männer auf der Farm ankommen, lauert ihnen ein mysteriöser Scharfschütze auf, der Beckett verletzt und alle anderen tötet. Mit Hilfe des ehemaligen Schützlings seines Vaters, Scharfschützenausbilder Richard Miller (Billy Zane), muss Beckett lernen, wie ein Scharfschütze zu denken, um den Mörder aufzuspüren, bevor er zurückkommt, um seinen Job zu beenden. Action like from some video game. Action that is different from what actions normally are, but still quite interesting. Sniper could entertain me and Billy Zane once again showed that he can be a good action player in the field of action movies. I don't even care that sometimes something was not well thought out. It's still a B-movie like a pig and the scene where the sniper shoots through one Kongan from side to side until his body breaks off and then shoots another with about 6 shots before even killing him didn't bother me at all.

It's a bit of an action mashup, but it's quite nice that it still sticks to the original premise. Billy Zane is back, although definitely don't watch it because of him. Even though he's first on the poster, he gets very little screen time. The story revolves around the son of the original sniper, and it must be said that he’s grown up now. This also contributed to the lack of originality in the story, which also lacks strong moments.
