Reba Butler hat die Krokodilangriffe am Black Lake überlebt und arbeitet inzwischen für die lokalen Behörden. Der See selbst wurde zum Naturschutzgebiet erklärt und mit einem elektrischen Zaun umgeben. Doch ein Zugang blieb auf geheimnisvolle Weise offen. Eine Gruppe von High School Schülern landet deshalb irrtümlich innerhalb der Umzäunung. Die Jugendlichen glauben sich in Sicherheit und toben im See. Aber es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis das erste Krokodil auftaucht. (ORF)

Lake Placid: The Final Chapter is one of those films that completely devastates me with how much it tries in some moments to appear as something more than what it truly is. It's B-movie absurdity, yet in some scenes, it tries to pass itself off as profound mainstream. Why do such nonsense films have to take themselves so seriously? If it were just nonsense, a ride on a missile, it would be more interesting and funnier, and it wouldn't annoy you. But Lake Placid: The Final Chapter just can’t do that. A bad ending to the series. I hope it really is the last one.
