Kolumbien, 1983. Nick ist mit seinem Bruder Dylan eingewandert, um an einem der Traumstrände des Landes ein Surfcamp aufzubauen. After watching Narcos, I'll take anything by Escobar, and I also enjoyed this one a lot. Benicio Del Toro was absolutely flawless as Escobar, even though the plot focused mainly on Josh Hutcherson falling in love with Escobar's niece and that brings trouble. The final half-hour is packed with so much tension that I almost didn't breathe. Very good and rough. 80%.

One almost wonders what kind of story they wanted to fit around Pablo Escobar, but as the film approaches its conclusion and builds up, the viewer realizes that in the second half, it's not so bad, even though it's actually expected. Benicio handles every role with ease, but Josh surprised me in that he did well in the grittier half of the film.
