In seinem Heimatstädtchen in Nebraska gilt Todd Burpo als der Mann für alle Fälle. Neben sich für Reparaturen, Sporttraining und Feuerlöschen zu engagieren, leitet er als Priester die Gottesdienste seiner Gemeinde. Als sein vierjähriger Sohn Colton eine Operation nur knapp übersteht, gerät Todds Glauben ins Wanken. Colton behauptet, er hätte während einer Nahtod-Erfahrung den Himmel gesehen. Und tatsächlich erzählt Colton von Details aus dem Leben verstorbener Familienmitglieder, von denen er eigentlich nichts wissen kann. (ORF)

I'm not a religious person and I don't understand why this is such a big story. Yes, there are moments when the guy actually seems to know more than he should. On the other hand, it's a statement from the movie and a statement from the father of a little boy. Even though it's based on a true story, I'm too much of a skeptic to be impressed by this. The acting is fine, the kid is great and I like Greg, but the film didn't grab me in any way. Just another great movie for believers.
