Englisch A watchable forest survival. Nice setting, summer atmosphere, moody score. I would reach for the 3*, even if the characters’ behaviour becomes increasingly stupid with time (they all could’ve killed each other like a hundred times, but the film would have ended too soon). But, on top of that, it clearly rips-off scenes from similar movies, in particular Eden Lake, without bringing anything new, like nothing at all of its own, to turn a blind eye to that. It’s enough that it’s already an unoriginal and uncreative, modern commercial horror flick, but please, don’t ruin the indie scene with this kind of decadence. ()

Englisch The first anticipated horror film of 2015 is over, but I didn't get much satisfaction. You can say that it is a decently unpredictable survival drama up to the first half, after that the film slides into clichés and a lot of illogical character behaviour, which wouldn't have mattered so much as a complete lack of gore and a rather weak dose of adrenaline, and I don't forgive that in survival films. I found it to be a weaker variation on Eden Lake, with a woman taking the law into her own hands again, as is the norm in horror films these days Grrr. What also disappointed me is that the director didn't have the balls to pull it off at least in the end, I wouldn't mind a higher rating, but still better than shit like Jessabelle or Ouija. 45% ()

Englisch One good scene unfortunately doesn't make a great movie, and while watching Preservation, you'll feel like you're watching something that takes the basic rule of survival genre, and... that's pretty much it. It doesn't bring anything new to the table at all. You're just watching what you could have watched many times before. In this regard, Eden Lake is definitely better and much more intense, which has a similar starting point but manages to have an incredibly strong impact on you. ()
