Asterix - Sieg über Cäsar

It's a bit better, but in my opinion what I wrote about Asterix the Gaul still applies: Asterix is better to read than to watch. Some of my friends, also Asterix fans, have the same opinion, so I hope I'm not being too subjective. The books are brilliant, the animated versions are botched, and Goscinny and Uderzo have disowned them. (08.05.2003)

Ich werde wahrscheinlich wie ein animierter Hinterwäldler klingen, aber irgendwie hat mich diese Folge nicht gepackt. Ich habe die ganze Zeit versucht, etwas zu finden, was mir daran gefällt. Ohne Erfolg. Es gibt zwar viele lustige Szenen, aber sie haben mich nicht zum Lachen gebracht. Die Charaktere waren trocken und am Ende war ich gelangweilt von Obelix' ständigem Zerschlagen und Abreißen von allem, was ihn umgab. Ich will den Asterix-Fans nichts wegnehmen, aber für mich war es ein durchschnittlicher Animationsfilm. (09.02.2010)

“Dear boys..." Asterix and Obelix put a system of small “favors" into practice in their second best film adventure, this time in a hybrid based on several different instalments of the comic book at once. Although it still remains in a rather infantile style compared to the original comic books, but as a kid this and The Great Cheese Conspiracy were my favorite cartoons of all, so I forgive it any glitches. Of course, I am happy to add that it didn’t have many glitches anyhow. (25.11.2007)

Another one of those stories that I quite like and find entertaining. The whole story is essentially just a journey towards rescue, but in the drawing, you can see how even in animated films, it evolved and is different from the previous one, moreover, it utilizes - to the benefit of the matter - different kinds of characters.
