Scharfschütze Leng Feng muss seine Antiterror-Einheit verlassen, da er sich Befehlen widersetzt hat. A solid war film from China overseen here by the excellent Jacky Wu and a decent bad guy in Scott Adkins. The film was slightly disappointing, judging by the trailer I was expecting martial arts in the jungle, in the end this is a pure war genre film, which is also not a bad thing, this theme is untapped and Wolf Warrior brings this theme to life nicely. There's plenty of action and it's not only bloody but decently exciting, I was surprised by the wolf scene where a group of five soldiers have to defend themselves against attacks from aggressive wolves, or the adrenaline pumped sniper scene with the perfectly limber Jacky Wu to the probably iconic Adkins vs Jacky Wu fight in a few years time, which is choreographed like a Ferrari and you'll hardly find a better knife fight. Decently suspenseful and nicely shot. 80% recommended.
