The Bunker

Ich habe nicht viel erwartet und am Ende hat sich ein anständiger Kammer-Horrorfilm entwickelt, der zwar nicht sehr erschreckend ist, aber eine gute Atmosphäre hat. Jason Flemyng spielt sehr gut und wird so zur sympathischsten Figur. Es hat mich ein wenig enttäuscht, dass die unterirdischen Gänge des Bunkers nicht voll ausgenutzt wurden und überhaupt nicht so aussehen, wie sie sollten. Ich war schon in den unterirdischen Räumen eines Kriegsbunkers, und die hiesigen Räumlichkeiten sehen eher aus wie der Keller einer Prager Villa. Na ja, sei's drum. Am Ende war es nicht schlecht. Und Vorsicht, jetzt kommt ein Spoiler. Natürlich werde ich nicht der einzige sein, dem die immer wieder auftauchende Pointe ermüdet und die Angst, die zum Killer wird, verkörpert ist, aber hier hat es mich nicht so gestört. Lassen wir mal. Vielleicht war es ordentlich getarnt. (05.07.2012)

You can expect many things from a film starring Jason Flemyng, but hardly a big budget spectacle. And The Bunker definitely has that cheap look about it. I was almost expecting one of the characters to declare during the film that those constantly approaching allies can't come because the production couldn't raise the money for more uniforms. Fear is also absent and by the end I was completely lost. So I give it three stars for the cleverly lit and atmospheric scenes and also for the appealing location, which for me plays one of the most important roles in haunted horror. (02.08.2010)
