Als am Strand eines Tages die verstümmelte Leiche eines Menschen, die schon seit vielen Jahren dort liegen muß, gefunden wird, tappt die Polizei zunächst im Dunkeln. Nach und nach führen sie Indizien dann aber doch zu einem Verdächtigen: dem Restaurantbesitzer Wong Chi Hang, dessen Spezialität Fleischbällchen sind. Nach tagelangen Verhören gesteht er das, was die Polizisten schon lange vermutet haben, nämlich, daß er menschliches Fleisch für sein Delikatessen verwendet. Wong Chi Hang will aber auf keinen Fall ins Gefängnis, sonern er bietet den Beamten eine andere Lösung an. (Verleiher-Text)

Der wahnsinnige Schlächter vergewaltigt, ermordet und zerlegt seine Opfer für seine köstlichen Fleischbällchen. Die Polizei, voller verrückter Detektive, kommt ihm jedoch bald auf die Spur und er wird verhaftet, schikaniert und verhört. Die Geschichte ist also wieder ziemlich einfach. Was sie jedoch von anderen HK Cat III-Filmen abhebt, ist sicherlich das Ende, in dem der tobende Psychopath innerhalb von zweieinhalb Minuten (!) eine siebenköpfige Familie einschließlich der Kinder brutal ermordet. Wirklich ein Massaker, das ist die Wahrheit. (70%)

When they try to create humor in Hong Kong, it is usually lost on me... Wannabe humorous police scenes are gradually phased out completely, but at first there are more than enough of them. If The Untold Story had been absolutely serious from the beginning, it could have worked excellently. Especially since the movie can rely on the always first-class Anthony Wong.

I'm slapping myself for putting the film off for so long!! The Untold Story is not only the most brutal horror film from Hong Kong, but also the most brutal horror film of the 90s, more or less a prequel to Macabre!! Anthony Wong is brilliant here, the guy was born to play these roles of crazy psychopath, murderer or maniac, it suits him perfectly. The film features some excellent sequences, which I will never forget, such as the scene in prison, where the main character gets his ass kicked, bullying of the deepest grain, or the very end, where they show the massacre of a whole family, including four children, who are then cut into pieces, all on camera!! So this is both very daring considering the time it was made and a great mockery of all the censored horror films of the 80s and 90s. A legitimate cult film. 9/10
