Englisch There’s a very original idea unravelling throughout the 4 or so hours of the overall footage. A relatively serious story about a hitman who doesn’t have a drop of emotion in him, situated in a completely bungling theatre in Los Angeles, which is exactly where the hitman wants to do his dirty work. A serious tone takes turns with some scathingly dark humor which is really amusing. Bill Hader has really surprised me, and truth be told, I wasn’t even disappointed by the literal ending. It may underline the show’s overall absurdity, but the general quality of the show, confident even in its action scenes, makes up for it. ()

Englisch Barry Is the New Dexter. It's a long wait because it's initially too straddled between the comedic and dramatic stances, and that's reflected in Hader's performance, because even with him the two stances (downtrodden versus killer) are so far apart that they don't have many points of contact. But the creators know what they're doing, and once it clicks in the seventh episode in a way you won’t be able to get it out of your head for a long time, you suddenly know that Barry really isn't just a "wannabe something like Dexter", but that they've found a distinctive angle that's both dead-on and interesting. | S1: 4/5 | ()

Englisch Don't be fooled by the content presented here - the main character Barry is indeed depressed, but certainly not an inferior contract killer. On the contrary, he can be considered a top professional in his field. However, he suffers from a frequent affliction that accompanies professional soldiers - mechanically following orders and finding no strength to resist them. He stumbled into his profession somehow and doesn't particularly enjoy it. However, he conscientiously fulfills the assigned tasks and successfully survives in a world full of violence and pitfalls. When he finds himself in the acting environment thanks to a special assignment, it's somewhat like the beginning of his criminal career. At first, he can't say no and he goes along, primarily because of the charms of his actress colleague Sally. The series Barry represents a peculiar combination of crime and comedy with elements of various other genres. If anyone remembers the character Dexter, in my opinion, Barry comes off better because his character is far more realistic and better anchored in the present. Dexter is cool, but its psychology is nonsense and over the course of eight seasons, the character just repeats the same plot scheme. Barry is much more tightly woven in its 2x8 episode format. True, the comedic aspect is somewhat straightforward, and some characters are downright caricatures, which is an aspect that sometimes clashes with the brutal crimes that the viewer is not spared from. But if you accept this game, Barry will provide you with a reasonable dose of entertainment and suspense. Overall impression: 75%. ()
