Toni Angermeier, Erdäpfelzüchter und leidenschaftlicher Chorsänger, wird tot in einem seiner Gewächshäuser gefunden. Scheinbar weint dem Opfer niemand eine Träne nach. Weder die eigene Ehefrau, noch Landwirtin und Konkurrentin Bettina Lösel. Agraringenieur Kern hat ohnedies seit langem am Stuhl seines Chefs gesägt und Prälat Hinter kommt wegen einer ominösen Geldspende an die Kirche ebenfalls in Erklärungsnot. Benno, der gerade von Tanti Anni belagert wird, ermittelt. (ORF)

Finally, one of the better episodes, which also has the label of being one of the last. The local constable still plays the role of Fajfra, but this time it doesn't bother me much. Nadine constantly tries to be funny, but even here it doesn't really irritate viewers of the original episodes. In addition, Ben solves the murder of a potato aristocrat, which is absurd in itself. The investigation is good, the priest bribes some archdeacon to allow him to sing with the Tölz boys' choir in the Sistine Chapel. The choir is overall fun to watch. Good thing the kids sang more than they talked, because when they talked, they had better thought processes than some adults. Well, funny, what can I tell you.... Potato King slightly matches the quality of the original lineup. However, really only slightly.
