Ein außerordentlich stacheliges, sadomasochistisches Erlebnis. Zumindest für diejenigen, die sich den Film bis zum Ende anschauen. So einfach – fast primitiv – und dabei so wirkungsvoll! Brr!

Eine Frau schreibt einen Brief, denkt laut nach, während ein Arzt in ihrem Bein herumstochert ... ? Lynchs Regiestil hat mich in diesem Fall wirklich weit verfehlt, denn ich konnte ihn überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Ekelerregend und morbide!

It's not to say that this film is about absolutely nothing. It evokes certain feelings, and there's a great blend of gritty reality with dark humor. Unfortunately, for me, it's just another installment where Lynch experiments with what can be filmed. The contrast between what the woman is reading and what the medical assistant is doing is great, but for it to really knock me off my feet...
