Nach dem Verrat durch Judas und der Festnahme im Garten Getsemane beginnt ein langer, qualvoller Leidensweg für Jesus von Nazareth. Zwölf Stunden vergehen, gespickt mit Geißelungen, Hohn und Hass, bis sein zerschundener Körper schließlich - bluttriefend - auf dem Hügel Golgota ans Kreuz geschlagen wird.
