Ein französischer Standardkrimi, wo die Haupthelden "brave Räuber“ sind. Der Plan geht aber schief, und damit sie überleben, müssen sie zu Killern werden. Alle, einschließlich des jüngeren Bruders, geraten auf die Verbrecherbahn natürlich wegen dem charismatischsten von ihnen, welchen dafür auch seine eigene Mutter verdammt. Er selbst würde das Ganze am liebsten hinschmeißen und zu seiner schönen Ex zurückkehren, aber… Klischee über Klischee. Als Action-Häppchen mit schnellem Verlauf der Handlung ist der Film aber unterhaltsam.

It’s true that The Crew brings nothing new. On the other hand, the movie involves a whole bunch of tough guys and fate would have it that every single one of them is a native Frenchman. Just look at the names of the actors – Sami Bouajila, Youssef Hajdi or Baya Belal. In their defense, I have to say that in terms of acting, their faces did the trick portraying the toughness. For instance, Sami Bouajila convinced me to google him to find out whether such a good actor was born a Muslim. I didn’t end up finding out, but what I did find out after watching the movie was that I had a hell of a time watching it. And that’s definitely enough to keep me happy for a while.

A cool action crime drama from France. It's got a decent pace, except that the bank robbery plot seems to go on and on and it's not very refreshing. Plus for realism. 65%.

Julien Leclercq is no newcomer to being a director, and his film The Assault is one of the best genre films with perfectly shot action, so I expected something similar from The Crew, and it delivered. Firstly, I must point that I did not know the actors, but I got used to them after a few minutes without any major problems. The main character is quite likable, and the other actors support him well. I would describe the plot as ordinary, nothing out of the norm. The action scenes are essentially flawless, and without a doubt, I would include the two perfectly shot head-on car crashes among the best movie scenes, which even gave me a slight chill. As the French have proven many times before, the shootouts here are also among the best you can get in films worldwide. In this category, the "Land of the Gallic Rooster" is among the very best. The ending was quite well wrapped up, and I can only recommend it to all fans of quality detective films. I give it 74%.
