Queensland, Australien: Eine Gruppe von Freund:innen beschließt, im Nordosten des Landes ein bislang unerforschtes Höhlensystem zu erkunden. Durch einsetzende Regenfälle sind Cash (Anthony Sharpe), Eric (Luke Mitchell), Jennifer (Jessica McNamee), Yolanda (Amali Golden) und Viktor (Benjamin Hoetjes) wenig später in der Tiefe gefangen. Doch es kommt noch schlimmer: Auch ein riesiges Krokodil hat sich in die überfluteten Katakomben verirrt, und das Monstrum geht direkt zum Angriff über! (TELE 5)

Englisch Pleasantly above-par for the standards of the genre. Fast pace, effectively used settings, solid characters and a firm director’s hand in the approach to the predators, which never become ridiculous or unnatural. It doesn’t matter in the end who will survive (we know it anyway) and the last 10 minutes didn’t really need to be there, but the tension is effective, the deaths demand the imagination of the viewer and the last-second escapes make your stomach turn.
