Season 1 (2021) (S01)

Englisch I’m a huge fan of French cinema; in recent years, France has produced countless high-quality films. That’s why I was interested in this highly acclaimed series. Lupin primarily draws from one thing: Omar Sy. This charming actor handles his role as the suave thief with ease, leaving his co-stars far behind. I was also pleased that the series consists of only five episodes, so there’s not much room for the typical "filler" episodes that go nowhere. The setting of Paris remains alluring and fresh, accompanied by a great musical score. In terms of writing, it often feels very well-thought-out, but there’s a minor issue that prevents the series from reaching a metaphorical pedestal. Beneath its initially impressive surface, there are quite a few plot holes and missteps. It’s something you can overlook, but it does leave a bit of a sting. We'll see what the second season brings; the first season still earns a solid 7/10 from me. ()

Season 2 (2021) (S02)

Englisch The second season picks up exactly where the first one left off. The pace initially falters quite a bit; the first two episodes felt somewhat bland (objectively about 6/10). However, the second half surprised me, with episode 4, featuring the catacombs, being the standout for me. I really liked how the creators blended the past with the present. There are still some plot holes here and there, but oh well. As a relaxing piece of entertainment with the perfect lead in Lupin, it does its job. I’d definitely welcome a continuation and would spend my time on it. For me, it’s again a 7/10. P.S. You have to take the portrayal of the police with a grain of salt because you definitely wouldn’t want such inept law enforcement in your own country :D ()
