The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special

Ein Weihnachtsspecial aus der Welt des MCU war nur eine Frage der Zeit! Gunns vierzigminütiges Häppchen beeindruckt mit seinem animierten Rahmen, und es ist schön, dass die eher vernachlässigten Charaktere Drax und Mantis im Mittelpunkt des Films stehen. Im Kern ist es ein alberner Spaß, aber er hat ein perfektes Tempo und ist angenehm unterhaltsam - sei es bei den Musiknummern, der Jagd nach "Bacon" oder den Sequenzen von der Comic Con und aus der Bar. P. S. Ich war etwas verwundert über Groots Aussehen - so als sähe er immer mehr wie Vin Diesel aus. (28.11.2022)

The idea of involving Kevin Bacon is great, but otherwise, and surprisingly for James Gunn, good comedy and pop culture references are scarce. That said, compared to the Star Wars Christmas Special from the 1970s that they reference to, this is a masterpiece. And The Pogues in the opening, and Gunn's caustic banter about the actors being fake scum, was fun. (02.12.2022)

I didn't expect anything more than a teaser for the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie with a bit of a Christmas theme. And that's exactly what it was. Though, to be fair, the Kevin Bacon idea was pretty good — probably the only standout idea in the whole special. (07.12.2022)

The Pogues over the Marvel logo instead of the theme song? Gunn is awesome! The holiday special is about fixing the spirit of Christmas for Star Lord, who apparently had it spoiled as a child. Drax a Mantis decide to get him a present and Kevin is home alone during the Holidays. A merry Christmas bag full of little winks, good mood, great music and hearts when your friends spin something for fun. P.S: The new, chubby Groot is looking more and more like Vin Diesel. I honestly expected more from this special. Don't get me wrong, James Gunn certainly didn't embarrass himself, but I'm not blown away either. The whole idea of kidnapping Kevin Bacon was amusing, and it's saturated with a festive Christmas atmosphere. However, I would have liked if about 20 minutes had been cut, as it drags in places. Otherwise, it's okay for a single watch. For me, it's a 6.5/10. P.S. The soundtrack is awesome! The song by Bacon is excellent! (04.12.2022)
