Weißes Rauschen

Weißes Rauschen bedeutet fast 140 Minuten mit unglaublich nervigen Charakteren in einer pastellfarbenen allegorischen Welt zu verbringen. Ich habe mich für die 5 Minuten amüsiert, in denen es fast wie im Vacation der Familie Griswold war. Nach Amsterdam ist dies ein weiterer übereifriger Film des überheblichen Regisseurs, bei dem unbedingt ein Produzent, Dramaturg und Cutter im Hintergrund stehen mussten, die 50 Minuten nutzloses Material entfernt hätten. After an hour, when the plot hadn't moved an inch, when the dialogues hadn't broken out of the strangeness they had been brimming with since the beginning, and when I hadn't laughed even once at the "humour", I mercilessly turned the film off. It is clear to me from the reviews here that it simply won't get better. A tragedy for wannabe critics that kills with its 140 minutes on paper alone, not that anyone could realistically want to watch it to the end... (03.01.2023)

Noah Baumbach's ego trip — a film that runs for over two hours and ultimately goes nowhere. Classic Netflix, giving creators free rein without considering if such a long and conceptually challenging movie will actually entertain viewers. (16.01.2023)

Nonsense of a similar level as the latest Iñarritú. This trend of a streaming giant giving an A-list director unlimited funds to film whatever he or she wants without scrutiny is becoming unbearable and needs to end, as it produces always the same: a ridiculously long, egomaniacal, unfocused mess. There are some interesting details, and the craftsmanship is good, but it doesn't hold together at all. (30.12.2022)
