It's not a great film, and it doesn't have a sophisticated plot, but it's a nice return to one legend, especially with Chow Yun-Fat, who you can tell is sixty now. The finale is quite well done, and out of nostalgia, you might even like it a bit more. But I'm sure the humorous concept won't suit everyone. I'm curious about the next episode, though.

For me, this is a showcase of great filmmaking from the director's perspective, as well as the superb acting displayed by Al Pacino, who is just incredible, transforming from a relatively naive cop into someone who cannot be easily broken and still pursues his goals relentlessly. He absolutely nailed it, and it's evident that this story was written by life itself, because it's ugly and cruel.

I can't help it, but this felt like an English parody of The Godfather. Brothers who aspire to become feared mobsters in the English underworld, act like fools and try to impress us with one or two tough scenes, which I personally could imagine being a lot grittier, but the creators lacked the courage for that. Weak, boring, and unoriginal.

A strong patriotic film that tries to deceive with its somewhat emotional story, narrated in memories, which ultimately should lead to a powerful outcome, but ends up being very, very pathetic. But there are definitely some good moments and overall the film is well shot, and some of the aerial scenes may surprise you.

I like boxing movies and I feel like it's hard to make one that's actually bad. This one isn't great overall, but it has great moments, and you can see on Fuqua's part that he knows how to shoot a great scene, not just action, but also sports scenes. Some shots from the ring are just fantastic, even though on the emotional level, it's somewhat superficial.

The return of great Italian filmmaking, with some of the most famous faces of world cinema? At first glance, I thought it would be a cheap affair without any originality, but this is beautifully visually executed, with the essence of real fairy tales, or rather horror stories, that people have loved and still love. Quite a surprise!

A very tolerable film, at least for me, if I judge it by who made it. I'm not a big fan of this era of European cinema, but it's evident that Truffaut moved away from it, and it was only for the better because it resulted in something that truly understands film and its production, and it's willing to offer this perspective to the audience, moreover, in an accessible and understandable way.

In the new millennium, it's not as entertaining, so I'm quite curious to see how the duo of films with Chow Yun-Fat turned out. Here, I only enjoyed the ordeal of his attempts to bond with his new roommate, but it wasn't granted to him. The film thus lacks proper progression leading to a climax.

I did not like this very much. Two hours for this is way too much, especially when everyone is waiting for the final performance, which, it must be admitted, is truly the highlight. It’s enjoyable, and even as a guy, I found it entertaining. Excellent choreography and especially great dancers. But somehow I didn't feel that this film had the depth it wanted to present. It’s very boring as a road movie.

Elliott Gould is definitely an interesting actor, but he just wasn't right for the role of Philip Marlowe in my opinion. He and Robert Altman have given the whole mythos a pretty interesting, completely new look, but it doesn't suit Marlowe, even if the story remains hardboiled at its core. No, it's not what you expect, and no, you may not enjoy it.
