Nele Wohlatz studied scenography and philosophy at the University of Applied Arts Karlsruhe and film at the University Torcuato di Tella in Buenos Aires. She has directed the short films La mochila perfecta (2014), Tres oraciones sobre la Argentina (2016) and Turista (2021). In 2013 she joined Gerardo Naumann to co-direct the feature-length documentary Ricardo Bär. Her debut solo movie, El futuro perfecto / The Future Perfect (2016), recieved the Golden Leopard for Best First Feature at the Locarno Festival. In 2020 her project Noche americana was selected for the Co-Production Forum in San Sebastian. Dormir de olhos abertos / Sleep With Your Eyes Open was selected for Ikusmira Berriak 2018. The film won the FIPRESCI Prize in the Encounters section of the last Berlin Festival.
